IOU Sports Announces 2010 Grants

Images of Us Sports, the only Wisconsin organization dedicated exclusively to girls and women in sports, announced it has been awarded $18,120 in grants for the 2010 grant cycle.   Thanks to our grant partners:

On behalf of IOU Sports and its Board of Directors, we extend our greetings for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.   Many of our supporters have felt the effects of the current financial crisis. Images of Us Sports gives new meaning to "Drop It Like It's Hot" by Kalyani Grasso

On November 14, 2009, Images of Us (IOU) Sports invited area organizations to be a part of its gender responsive forum offering girls a safe place to be with other girls and focus on violence prevention, conflict resolution, self-esteem, and leadership.  This one day event consisted of breakout sessions and a luncheon with  keynote speaker Judge Valerie Hill. Judy Sweet inducted to WI Athletic Hall of Fame

Judy Sweet, standing with Bernell Hooker, Founder and CEO of Images of Us Sports was honored in 2006 for the IOU Sports Lifetime Achievement Award in Milwaukee, WI.  Ms. Sweet will be inducted on November 20, 2009 into the WI Athletic Hall of Fame along with the following 2009 Class:   BOB HARLAN, former president and CEO of the Green Bay Packers

All American Girls Professional Baseball League - Luncheon with the Legends

Milwaukee, WI  -  The All American Girls Professional Baseball League, "Power of the Human Spirit Luncheon" honored local and national women.  The 1992 film A League of Their Own, although fictionalized, covered the founding and play of this league.
